The 2023 Working Conference of the People's Bank of China was held on January 4. The meeting summarized the main work in 2022 and the past five years, analyzed the current situation, and deployed the work in 2023.
Yi Gang, Governor of the People's Bank of China, and Guo Shuqing, Secretary of the Party Committee, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
The meeting pointed out that China will continue to deepen international financial cooperation and opening up. Do an excellent job in leading the sustainable finance work of the G20. Steadily expand institutional opening-up such as rules, regulations, management, and standards. Promote the internationalization of RMB in an orderly manner. It was proposed to join the RMB liquidity arrangement of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and promote the weight of the RMB in the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) currency basket to 12.28%.
